Alpine Sunrays (2022)
This botanical lino print shows a field of alpine hoary sunrays (Leucochrysum albicans subsp. alpinum), a plant endemic to the alpine regions of New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, and Victoria. Hoary sunrays are small perennial herbs with grey-green foliage. With papery radiating petals and intense yellow disc centres, they make fabulous dried flowers. In the background of the print lie granitic boulders typical of Australia’s high country landscape.
This print has been meticulously hand coloured using professional watercolours. Enjoy it by itself, or as the right panel of my Alpine Meadows triptych. “Alpine Sunrays” is a limited edition of 25 prints, on 300 gsm Hahnemühle paper 19.5 x 27 cm, unframed.
The edition number you see here is not necessarily the artwork available.
